CANNA Terra Seedmix is perfectly suited for germinating the seeds of your favourite plant. It has a homogeneous, stable structure consisting of very clean coco coir that ensures a higher retainability of water, which gives the seeds the best chance of germinating correctly. CANNA Terra Seedmix is also particularly suitable for use when rooting cuttings.
Sowing in Terra Seed Mix
Sow the seeds 2-3 mm deep (max. 5 mm) in the Terra Seed Mix in a container that has a maximum diameter of 5 cm. Spray the growing medium regularly. Seedlings first use the energy reserves that are available in the seed.
Keep the seeds warm (20-25°C) and moist using a propagator for example. Remove the propagator’s lid as soon as the seedlings emerge from the ground.
Young seedlings
The young seedlings are very delicate so do not place them in direct sunlight or close to a powerful growing lamp since this may burn them. Give the young plants a feeding solution that has a low EC (1.2) and add Rhizotonic to strengthen the roots. The seedlings are ready to be potted out when they have developed two or three leaves.
Cuttings and further
Once the plants have developed a good root system in the Terra Seed Mix they can be transferred to a growing medium such as Terra Professional , Terra Professional Plus , Canna Coco (Natural/Professional Plus) , clay pebbles or rock wool where they will be cultivated to maturity. CANNA’s range of nutrients includes the best specific combinations for each of these growing mediums that will guarantee an optimum harvest.
