Hydroponic Kits

Most hydroponic systems are based around the same simple model of growing a plant without soil using a solution of plant nutrients bathing over the roots.  The system usually comprises of a reservoir tank where the nutrient solution is stored, a pump and means of delivery of the solution and a sterile inert medium in which the plant is grown.  This medium can be just perlite/vermiculite or clay pebbles, rockwool (spun molten rock fibre/glass wool), synthetics or even no medium at all can be used. Hydroponic kits can give amazingly fast growth and outstanding yields (3-4 times), but as little medium is used there is little or no buffering against changes in pH and composition of the nutrient solution - so close monitoring of the pH and E.C.of the solution is critical.
